Alpha Dog (2006)

An Entourage like dramatic gangster type film about a drug dealer and the perils of the life of being wannabe thugs. They get in over their heads when a drug deal gone bad makes for a major dispute which in turn leads to an impromptu kidnapping.

Emile Hirsch plays a convincing inexperienced drug dealer torn between, trying to create a reputation of a tough guy you don't want to cross and a spooked kid that wants to take back the last week of his life. Not willing to accept the consequences of his decisions, he involves 2 naive friends, including Justin Timberlake and Shawn Hatosy, in kidnapping a 15 year old because it seemed like a good idea at the time. Realizing the scope of charges they would face for the decisions they made, the group takes drastic actions and they find themselves making things worse.

Ben Foster overacts his way through a challenging role of the real bad ass of the movie. A twitchy drug addict that destroys his life and career, relying on violence to solve his problems. This ultimately destroys his family and threatens the life of his younger brother.

Questions to ponder while watching this movie:

Murder because of $1,200 owed from a drug deal gone bad?

If Zach is a black belt, how come he doesn't defend himself when they first kidnap him? Or when he figures out that he is not "going home"?

Is this movie in my(wifes)collection just because of Justin Timberlake's abs? Or Emile Hirschs abs? Or Shawn Hatosy's abs?

What happened to Jake?
