Aeon Flux (2005)
The Matrix meets Outbreak with a 2005 special effects twist. There is some really good action scenes throughout. Aeon (Charlize Theron) and Sithandra (Sofie Okonedo) crossing over the outer defenses was a fantastic action sequence. The movie and the background have all sorts of different great ideas of what the future holds. There where even some really cool integrated props that seem like they could be a great new technology.
There is a good plot for this film. It is a compelling story of what happens to the earth and humankind after a plague wipes out most of the world. Good graphics, good plot, decent acting makes for a good movie. I am not going to put this movie into my up tier of great movies, but it is a movie I liked and will watch again, in my collection.
This movie meets my criteria for a good futuristic sci-fi film. Cool new tech geek gadgets, good plot, and a cool effects. Also not essential but important part to a good sci-fi movie is: Would this make a cool video game? Like being able to play the bee-hive shooter/"blades" of grass scene on a video game console. (I am pretty sure there is such a game.) Lastly it makes a good futuristic sci-fi movie because for the most part it could really happen. So that almost makes it a slightly scary movie if one takes it too seriously.
This movie gets a rating of: In my collection (click to see rating system)
Questions to ponder while watching this movie:
What happens when some dies and they can not retrieve the DNA?
If so wouldn't the population keep shrinking?
If so wouldn't the population find it strange that the # of people does not rise?
(OK there are so many more DNA/Civilization questions so I guess my really true question to sum up all of these is:
People really did not notice for 400 years?Really?
I am going to have to throw the BS flag on that one and say I really think that humankind would notice that the whole population is being in-vitro fetilized. It is my opinion that humans are way to curious and inquisitive by nature.)
How cool would it be to have hands as your feet?
